Walter Barnes III, President
After earning a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. from George Washington University, founder and president Walter Barnes, III set his sights on helping Government agencies become more effective and efficient. Working as a consultant for BearingPoint, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics, and Director of Project Planning and Control at SRA International, Walter has over 17 years of experience in Federal Government consulting. Walter brings this experience and knowledge to PMCG. Under Walter’s leadership PMCG continues to grow, making a difference for its clients. Walter is also a passionate community leader serving as Chairman of the board for Power 52 Foundation, which is dedicated to developing workforce skills for at risk adults, returning citizens, and military veterans. He also sits on the board of the Capital Youth Empowerment Program (CYEP), which develops strong communities through nurturing family values.
Chanel Carter holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. She began her career with EPC company Bechtel, in the field of Occupational, Safety & Health where she held both office and project positions. Continuing her career with Bechtel, she transitioned to the field of Human Resources, where she held several roles in Recruiting, Operations, Talent Management, and Performance Management. Chanel has since joined PMCG’s team as Human Resources Director. Whether working, serving in the community or parenting, Chanel’s outlook is the same: always operate in the spirit of excellence by being intentional in the things you do.
Dr. Jonathan Johnson, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Jonathan Johnson is the founder and surgical director of Comprehensive Wound Care Services and Capital Aesthetic and Laser Center in Washington, DC. He is board certified by the American Board of Wound Management, Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Dr. Johnson trained in general surgery with a fellowship as the Sylvester J. Carter fellow in Hand and Plastic surgery at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center of Cornell University. He holds a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Finance from The Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the J. Robert Gladden Surgery Society, and Maryland Society of Physician Entrepreneurs. Dr. Johnson joined PMCG in 2018 as the Chief Medical Officer to lead our healthcare consulting practice. In his free time Dr. Johnson is the Vice Chair of the board of directors at Capital Youth Empowerment Program (CYEP) a non-profit focused on fatherhood development and education.
Christopher Martin, Operations Manager
Chris Martin holds a B.A. in History and Economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, following which he spent two years in retail banking focused on problem-solving and addressing customers’ needs. He moved on to manage and run operations for a retail store. After a successful three years optimizing and strengthening processes and systems, he pursued an International MBA from Instituto de Empresa (IE) Business School in Madrid, Spain. His studies combined with his work experience has given him in-depth business insights and positioned him to deliver strategically in his role as Operations Manager at PMCG since joining the firm in September 2016. An avid sports enthusiast, Chris takes his love for the game of rugby by coaching high-school students in his spare time.
